Yemayá is the universal mother in the Yoruba Pantheon, the owner of the waters, warrior goddess, loving and righteous.
When you feel that love and family unity that is needed is lacking in your home, you can make this offering (addimú) to our mother Yemayá so that she intercedes in your home life.
It is also important to talk with the orisha Yemayá, with great sincerity, especially since she is our mother, the womb that brought us to earth.
Tell her about your anguish, your desire to find love so that everyone unite and flow from tranquility, in her you will find the answer to your sadness.
Remember when performing this Addimú for Yemayá that the main thing is to have faith and place all your trust in what you do.
Ingredients:
- 4 ripe plantains for frying or plantains (not bananas)
- Butter
- Brown sugar
- cinnamon sticks
- white or blue plate
- Sugarcane molasses
- 2 candles
- 7 cents (7 pennies each)
How do we prepare this beautiful offering to Yemayá?
- First, the banana must be very ripe and you must cut it lengthwise.
- By cutting the 4 bananas you will get 8 parts, but you will only put 7 in this offering, which is the mark of the orisha.
- Then you pour 3 large tablespoons of butter in a pan and when it is hot you fry the bananas, let them brown on both sides.
- When they are golden, add water covering them halfway and lower the heat.
- You add 6 tablespoons of brown sugar and 7 cinnamon sticks.
- When it begins to thicken and looks like caramel, turn off the heat.
- Carefully transfer it to a white or blue plate and pour sugarcane molasses on top.
Let's finish the ritual with a lot of faith
Once the offering is ready, light the 2 candles at the foot of Yemayá and ask for your blessing, giving knowledge of what you are offering and pray that you need your home life to sweeten and peace and tranquility to come to your life.
- If you have not received Yemayá you can also make this offering in her name, if you have a representation of the orisha you can place it in front of her.
You will have this offering for as long as it lasts, that is, we cannot deliver it damaged, it must still be beautiful when we take it to Yemayá.
You can take this Addimú for Yemayá to the sea or, if not, to a mountain with 7 cents of right.
- We share the following prayer, which you can use to invoke the goddess while doing the ritual or whenever you want.
