Do you know with which Catholic saints the orishas of the Yoruba religion are compared?

catholic saints of orishas

The religious mixture in Cuba was born as a slope of the slavery process, the union of Catholicism and the African beliefs of the slaves, brought as a consequence the phenomenon of syncretism.

The slaves, under pressure from the colonizers, to practice the Catholic religion, attributed to their deities the name of a Catholic saint, in this way their religious practices went unnoticed and they could maintain their roots.

The various religious expressions merged over time, marking an important mark, still in force today, of Cuban religiosity.

In the following test that we have prepared to challenge knowledge, you will be able to practice and learn how this syncretization process was adapted in 20 of the most popular orishas of the Yoruba pantheon.
