irunmole, is today one of the least known precepts of the yoruba religion and it can create some confusion when comparing it to the term Orisha. But we must know that there is a difference between Orisha and Irunmole.
irunmole is the union of three words:
- IRUN (celestial beings),
- MO (knowledge),
- ILE (ground)
So this term would mean "Celestial beings with great knowledge that visit the earth". Beings of light, compared to the energy of nature.
La difference between Orisha and Irunmole It implies that the Orisha is the human being who surpassed himself through his behavior and actions on earth, who ascended and became a deity.

For example, Irunmole Ogún is said to the Energy of Ogún, the one necessary to work, fight and overcome complicated situations.
