What does Inle represent in Santería? Protector of hospitals and patients

Inle in Santeria

Inle is one of the Orishas most invoked in requests for health, prosperity and abundance in the Rule of Osha or Santeria.

His children and devotees ask him for better opportunities to improve their path in life, both to overcome disease, to do prosperous businesses and obtain a higher paying job.

Characteristics that define Inle, the doctor in the Rule of Ocha

  1. Inle is known as the Physician of the Osha, patron of doctors, fish, and owner of the river in the Yoruba Pantheon.
  2. It is the deity of the extractive economy or, specifically, of fishing and pre-horticultural harvesting. For this reason, a lot is asked of him for job opportunities and the end of an economic slump.
  3. Inle is a doctor, hunter, and fisherman and is said to be one of the most beautiful deities in the Yoruba pantheon.
  4. He is androgynous and is the personification of the earth.
  5. Inle protects doctors and fishermen, as it represents their activities.
  6. Since he is the Osha's doctor, in addition to being a fortune-teller, he offers his help and support to all those who request his favor out of respect.
  7. Inle is represented in nature by fish.
  8. Its main power tool consists of a lead base from which comes out a T of silver or silver material that has two snakes coiled and at the ends of which a fish protrudes on one side and an arrow or harpoon on the other.
  9. It also represents the health that is received to ward off illnesses and therefore is a highly revered Orisha in these times when evils of all kinds prevail.
  10. As a hunter and gatherer, he is considered a provider of human sustenance, and for that reason all those who go through economic and financial crises pray to him.

How to pray to Inle for health and abundance?

Let us remember that we can pray to Inle both on land and in water, since he inhabits both spaces.

We can also dedicate an altar adorned with blue and green, their representative colors. Same shades that we use in your candles.

Some of its attributes are two rings, hooks, pita, net, a hand of snails, an acofá, three little fish, shells and a small jar.
