The addimú (offerings), have religious peculiarities and various forms of preparation. The types of addimú are different for each Orisha and its confection is distinguished if it is intended to be shared with devotees or it will be only to honor the deity.

To the Orishas we give their favorite foods, plants, their attributes, to show them loyalty and devotion, to thank them for their blessings and to implore their protection against all evil.

The Addimú or offerings to the saints include fruits, vegetables, plants, flowers and animals, each of them dedicated to reverence a specific Orisha and constitute an expression of the devotion of the believer.
